Charlotte Lebersfeld’s Bat Mitzvah Project
For my Bat Mitzvah project, I wanted to do something that is very close to my heart while also helping others. As many of you know, I love camp! Camp is a special place to me, my sisters, my mom and even my dad. He did not go to the same camp that my mom went to and that my sisters and I go to, but he thinks he did because it’s such a big part of our lives.
I am teaming up with a fellow Camp Kennybrook alumni (owner of Beads4Proceeds) and Sunrise Association Day Camps. I am selling bracelets, and the profits will give children with cancer the opportunity to enjoy camp while still getting the proper treatment they need.
Sunrise Association Day Camps are the world’s only dedicated day camps for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. The day camps are located throughout the US and in Israel. I decided to launch this mitzvah project now because September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
