Bringing Love and Joy: Support Childhood Cancer Awareness and Make a Difference Today
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month was established to raise awareness about pediatric cancer throughout September. We honor the courageous children and their families who are bravely battling cancer, while highlighting the significance of fundraising for organizations that offer vital support to these families. In 2023, the Sunrise Association brought joy to over 40,000 children, and we look forward to this number continuing to grow in the future. To ensure that Sunrise programs can continue bringing happiness to these brave children, we ask you to make a donation today.
Philadelphia Union Brings Soccer Joy to Sunrise Day Camp-Greater Philly Campers
Philadelphia Union, represented by Kai Wagner, Jeremy Rafanello, and their lovable mascot Phang, joined Sunrise Day Camp-Greater Philly for an unforgettable day. The Union players shared insights into their professional soccer careers, signed Sunrise T-shirts, and played alongside the campers, teaching drills and spreading smiles. The day was filled with excitement as the kids enthusiastically took part in inflatable carnival soccer activities, creating happiness in every moment. As a heartfelt gesture, the Philly Union gifted pajamas and T-shirts, creating lasting memories of this joyful day.

Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island Brings Back a Beloved Tradition
The Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island revived a cherished tradition this summer—the family barbecue! Families experienced the magic of Sunrise firsthand, playing favorite games and singing along to camp songs. After a hiatus during the pandemic, Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island warmly welcomed families back for the first time since 2019. Grateful parents, like Nickell M. and Nancy C., expressed their joy and appreciation for the opportunity to visit again. Special thanks to barbecue sponsors—the Mannix family ShopRites and Osteria Santina—and ice cream truck sponsors—the Roche family and Molod Spitz & DeSantis, P.C.—for making the evening extra special for Sunrise families.
Congratulations to a Friend of Sunrise!
The American Amusement Manufacturers (AAMA) recently awarded Allen Weisberg, CEO of Apple Industries, the prestigious AAMA Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional contributions to the industry. A dear friend of the Sunrise Association, Allen has consistently gone above and beyond for AAMA and its charitable foundation and helped shine a light on our programs. Thanks to Allen choosing to direct additional funds towards our organization, during the ceremony on September 17th, we were thrilled when Sunrise received three checks totaling $215,000! Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to our esteemed friend, Allen Weisberg, for his Lifetime Achievement Award and the love he has shown to the children of Sunrise!

Sailing for a Cause: RCM&D's Annual Regatta Benefiting Horizon Day Camp
RCM&D, a valued friend and community partner of Horizon Day Camp, organized its 28th Annual Regatta on a picturesque September day at the stunning Baltimore Inner Harbor. Sailors were greeted with sunny skies, smooth sailing, and a day of dedicated service. Horizon Day Camp was honored as one of the five esteemed charities that each received $21,000, alongside over 300 guests who participated in the post-regatta celebration. “We are immensely proud to support each organization in their mission to assist those in need,” expressed Katie Caple, Vice President of RCM&D.

Sunrise in the City

Sunrise in the City Casino Night is a new event created by the Sunrise Association’s NextGen Committee, a group of 30-somethings who are dedicated to furthering the mission to help bring joy to children with cancer and their siblings around the world. Taking place Thursday, October 12 at 230 Fifth Rooftop in New York City, this new event will include exciting casino games & entertainment, silent auction & raffle, and an open bar & small bites.
Dare to Dream
