Sunrise Association‘s mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide, through dedicated full-summer day camps, in-hospital programs, and virtual experiences. Marketing Intern (Fall Semester 2024) 

Hours: 10 to 15 hours per week 

Compensation: Small stipend at the end of the semester (Course credit possible) 

Location: Hybrid (Oceanside, NY offices) or Remote 

Role and Responsibilities: 

As a Marketing Intern at Sunrise Association, you will gain hands-on experience working with a dynamic and growing nonprofit organization. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Social Media Content Creation: Brainstorm and execute engaging content for our social media accounts with a combined audience of 20,000 followers. 
  • Graphic Design: Utilize Canva to create eye-catching graphics for various marketing campaigns. 
  • Website Content Management: Develop and update website content across our network of Sunrise Day Camp websites. 
  • Fundraising Campaigns: Assist in marketing efforts for fundraising initiatives, contributing to campaign strategy and execution. 
  • Sunrise Studios Support: Collaborate with Sunrise Studios to support the marketing needs of our flagship program, Wheels Up! 
  • Various Marketing Tasks: Engage in a variety of other marketing-related activities, providing support where needed. 

Who We’re Looking For: 

We are seeking a forward-thinking and proactive individual who is passionate about nonprofit work and making a positive impact. The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be highly motivated and able to work autonomously with minimal hand-holding. 
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and a willingness to take on diverse marketing tasks. 
  • Have a keen interest in social media, graphic design, and content creation. 
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams, including marketing, Sunrise Studios, and development.
